Street Ball Center
Transforming the Culture

Please accept my warmest greetings as we reach out for your support in our fast -moving comprehensive campaign, “A Vision for Our Future.” Many of you I have already shared the definition of SBC Dust Bowl , but for those of you who have no idea what "Dust Bowl" is, here's a brief description: Dust Bowls engage community stakeholders in a participatory process designed to prevent criminal and/or delinquent activity. The program culminates with weekends outdoor basketball tournaments (Dust Bowl’s) where participates can demonstrate their unique talents, abilities and skills. Participants also receive the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities and multiple venues. As we begin our yearlong celebration of the 7th anniversary of Street Ball Center, let me thank each and every one of you who have participated in the raising of funds to meet our $388 thousand campaign goal. The encouraging results are enriching the skill building and service learning experience of our youth and they are helping the Street Ball stay at the forefront of therapeutic Crime Prevention Services.

Because of your help, we have seen success in the two major aspects of the campaign, Complex Beautification and Facility Enhancements. Each plays an important role in the continuing success during the second half of “A Vision for Our Future.”

If you have not seen our site recently, during your next visit you will be greeted by some of the terrific improvements during the first half of our campaign. You will see the economic vitality of commercial areas that have been improved with the addition of the new complex beautification and enhancement upgrades, creating a significant impact on both safety and commercial viability. You will be able to take in the view of 38th and Shadeland from the Street Ball Center gateway into the commercial district, and get a drink from the new shops in the area. These are only a few of the updates made because of your support, we have made significant progress in this first half of the campaign. With your continuing support, much more exciting advancement will be completed, including our youths’ highest priority, a shelter and gathering area.
